TAMIZ
Alejandro reflects in this recital his own way of understanding concert flamenco guitar. A guitar that he presents naked, accompanied by the minimal percussion necessary in rhythmic pieces, but without any further embellishments. With "Tamiz," he showcases the repertoire collected in his second recording work, composed by Alejandro in recent years, where avant-garde and tradition go hand in hand.
We can listen to touches like "Música para un día gris" (taranta) or "La liviana" (seguiriya), compositions with which Alejandro won the "Bordón Minero" at the International Cante de las Minas Festival. The soleá "Calleja del Indiano," one of his first compositions that emerged during his student days at the Conservatorio Superior de Córdoba. Or the farruca titled "A mi madre," where Alejandro shows us his more intimate and expressive side.
His deep knowledge of and respect for the masters of flamenco guitar are also reflected in the compositions he offers us. Any enthusiast will recognize the nods that appear in his works, as sound tributes to the great guitarists who have directly or indirectly shaped his way of playing and understanding music. This is particularly evident in the magnificent bulería titled "Al sonar la tarde," in which each falseta evokes one of the guitar masters he admires so much.
